I mentioned seeing a moving truck and lots of boxes in my local bank branch Saturday. I had assumed that was bad news, but they were open last night.
Had a check to cash anyway, so I stopped inside. They have all-new carpet (complete with an overpowering fresh glue smell!), new fancy eight foot high plate glass cubes for their bankers, and a redone floor plan that moves the little desks you go to for filling out deposit slips etc before seeing a teller.
They also only had two tellers on duty, so I stood in line for about 15 minutes waiting for the 4 people in front of me to finish their transactions. Personally I would have opted for the old furniture and one more teller station open, but that’s just me.
