Five weeks left in the “Baby N” countdown…

Heather has a cold, and is starting to feel uncomfortably large. I think we both are a little worried that the remaining five weeks are going to feel very long.

I confiscated my first cell phone tonight! (Yay Scouting?)

I was in Nebraska last weekend looking for deer, but didn’t manage to cross paths with anything worth shooting at.

Meanwhile, Heather was in Florida participating in a wedding. To make a long story short, she did just fine, but wouldn’t advise unnecessary trips this late in the pregnancy game. The important part is, I suppose, that she and the baby are home safe, it was a beautiful wedding, and she really enjoyed herself while she was there.

Nine Days Left

And here is what we have managed to knock out as of late:

  • Marriage license 100% ready
  • We know when all our wedding party are getting into town
  • Have a tentative plan for the time leading up to the wedding, although we haven’t written it down and shared it with anyone yet
  • Rehearsal dinner is squared away, every one’s orders are in and the place is ready for us
  • The final contact with the bakery is done, meaning we shouldn’t need to worry about the cake

Heather and I were suppose to meet with our pastor to go over the final plans for the rehearsal tonight. That got canceled last minute, when he became a grandfather! I don’t know many details beyond that, and its really not my news to publish, but it’s still exciting. It does set us back a little in getting our ducks lined up, but in this case Heather and I were happy to be bumped to a different day.

Another Week Down

… Leaving only two weeks remaining until the wedding!

This weekend, Heather will attend the fourth and final shower before the wedding. Also this weekend its looking like we will get questionable weather, again. I still hold out hope that we are getting all this out of the way before the wedding, but bad weather keeps consistently hitting on weekends as of late, it seems.

Driving conditons permitting, I plan to stop buy the church to see how it has been decorated by some other even, as a hot tip said they did a really good job. Hopefully I can get a few ideas for Heather and I to use. Not to say we don’t have any, but seeing something tried is a lot better than guessing how things might look. Sadly the weather is going to prevent Heather from getting a chance to see it, but maybe I can take some pictures 🙂

50 Days!

The wedding is just 50 days away now!

(actually 49 if you use the count I have been using in the past… 49 days and 7 hours remaining right now….)

its still a long time, but starting to feel like its going to be here soon. I am also starting to think Heather and I might actually make it. She has been in Blair for over a month now, but we have managed to find reasons to make the drive one direction or the other pretty frequently.

Heather has a whole gambit of showers lined up, I don’t know for sure what I will be doing those weekends, but I am sure I will think of something. Did I mention I am playing WoW again? “leaving” only lasted like 48 days or so, but thus far I haven’t really gotten into it as much as before. Yeah, so back to the wedding countdown…

There is a *LOT* of stuff going on between now and the wedding. People have kind of made fun of us for having so much of the wedding planned months in advance. When you realize there aren’t any more open weekends between now and the wedding, it starts to seem pretty practical. As much as we have done, I still expect some frantic last minute things come January. At least for now we can feel like we are mostly ready and enjoy everything that is happening in December.

The other fun thing that has started happening is people are RSVPing, and just using the website more. Its exciting for me to see the increased activity, although perhaps I am too easily entertained.

Sixty Days

Today is November 24th, and there are 60 days until the wedding. I find it interesting that those two metrics line up today. I guess it has a lot to do with the fact my “days remaining” countdown will say zero the Friday before the wedding.

The other fact about today that I find a little hard to really accept is that Christmas is only 30 days away. As much it has felt like the engagement has drug on forever, the year is screaming by.

We are in pretty good shape as far as planning goes I think, nearly everything is lined up and ready. I will have to start calling groomsmen here for tux measurements, and I guess we just hope the bridesmaids are on top of picking out dresses, but at least Heather and I have nearly everything we are responsible for rolling.
