!!! PICTURES !!!

We have pictures from our wedding!

Well, ok we don’t have them yet, but they are posted on our photographers website. We expect to have a DVD with the full sized versions of the pictures for us to play with soon. For now you will just have to go check out the website, instructions here.

Heather and I are so happy to finally get to see them! There are some really great pictures, and so many we didn’t even realize got taken.

Notes

Well, its Friday the 13th.

The forecast is saying 100% chance of snow today. Walking through the parking lot, nearly everyone seems to have broken down and washed their cars in the last few days of +40f temps. I wonder if the car-washing karma has an exponential effect, and we will have a blizzard today. On the other hand, basically every school in Lincoln and Omaha preemptively closed, so that should mean this storm completely fizzles.

In other news, we still don’t have any wedding pictures. I have some hope they will come in the mail today or tomorrow, but who knows.

Marriage License And Picture News

After two plus weeks of waiting for something in the mail from the county clerk, we double checked with our pastor to make sure things had been mailed in properly. They had been, and mailed in promptly at that! He mentioned that we should check with another couple in the church who recently got married, because they had some issues. They strongly recommended we call, because apparently two copies of their “certified marriage certificate” got lost in the mail before they just went down to the office and picked one up.

Heather called the clerk’s office today, and found they had records of mailing our certificate just four days after the wedding. It seems the US Postal service has a special bin for loosing marriage certificates in. I will be making a special trip down town to try and obtain a copy of the certificate. If all goes well, Heather can begin the process of changing her name etc. that she has been dreading for months now 🙂

Also over the weekend, picture news!

We talked to our photographer, and she expects to have our pictures completed by this coming weekend! I don’t know if that will include posting pictures on her website, but it should at least include giving a CD of digital copies to us. I hope that means we can have a few pictures posted somewhere on this site over the weekend. Given the lackadaisical posting here though, we might be a little late getting pictures out. I will say though, Heather and I are very excited about the pictures, so there should be ample motivation.

Picture News!

Exciting stuff!

Heather has been watching the photography site, hoping that maybe some of our wedding pictures would pop up as example pictures as Cherie is working through our pictures. Her diligence paid off, and there are a few wedding pictures posted over at:

C Phelps Photography

I can’t deep-link to the pictures, but here is how you find them:

  1. Click on “Galleries”
  2. Select “happily ever after” from the listed galleries
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the pictures

As of this posting, pictures from our wedding are the last four in the gallery. Hope you all enjoy them, Heather and I certainly have!

Picture Update

A number of people have asked about viewing the pictures on our photographers website.

To my knowledge she hasn’t actually posted anything. You can see the text “Heather and Jordan” listed under weddings there, but its not a link.

As soon as I know more I will let people know, and probably post something on the blog as well as the main wedding site.

I also hope to get a note about the pictures not being up yet on the main site, but it might be a few days before I have time to sit down and do that 😦

The Final Week

Well, less than a week left! Really we have less than two days left to prepare, and then scheduled events begin.

I haven’t had time, to post for a few days… and somehow I feel terribly guilty about that 😦

anyway, what have we been up to?

  • Attended a first birthday party for our favorite baby sitting charge
  • Visited friends in the hospital who just had their first child ( perhaps a future contender for the title listed in #1?)
  • Ordered pictures for the table centerpiece decorations
  • Received and sorted six boxes of kitchen supplies from Pampered Chef
  • Prepared detailed itinerary for the wedding and preceding events
  • Coordinated with the majority of our wedding party
  • Met with our pastor to plan the wedding
  • Picked verses to be read at the wedding
  • Glued pictures to backing for centerpieces, started cutting them out
  • Finished shopping for gifts for wedding helpers
  • Confirmed with picture location for post wedding pictures
  • Finalized our joint auto insurance policy to start the day after we are married.

Whats left to do?

  • Finish the table centerpieces
  • Finish the pre-wedding slide show
  • wrap all the wedding gifts
  • clean the apartment

probably more, but I think I am repressing it 🙂

All that being said, I think we are doing ok as far as being ready for the wedding. Heather, and to a lesser extent myself are felling a lot of stress, probably more than we should, but its hard to not feel like the entire day depends on you.

Even More Pictures!

Heather and I were handed a DVD with all our engagement pictures on it Sunday. Before we had just a few pictures… maybe 20 from our photographer. The DVD had something like 130+ pictures on it.

Heather did a great job of digging into the full list, and picking out her favorites. She then did a little work cropping and tweaking on the shorter list. All I can say is that we have some amazing pictures, and it was really fun to get to see them all.

you can see a few of our favorites in the Gallery

More Picture News

I got word from Heather today that we have a location for wedding pictures!

After nearly a month of persistent calling, Heather managed to talk to the right person at the Durham Western Heritage Museum. We have a reservation there, I don’t know what that means really except that we know they will let us take pictures the day of the wedding.

After being painfully cold while taking the engagement pictures, our sense of urgency about finding an indoor location went way up. The botanical gardens are still an option, but that is still a large unknown because we don’t know how it will be decorated. There is a chance we will really like what they have in January, but my fear is it will end up looking more like a jungle safari if we tried to take pictures using their indoor area. Some of the times I have seen their indoor display setup its rather claustrophobic, very cool to look at, but it just wouldn’t work for group pictures.

Heather and I had initially ruled out the DWHM because its not all that interesting visually. After failing to find anything better we were still pursuing it, but after the cold of engagement pictures, and realizing the average temps in Omaha for January are something like 19f it became a must. I still wasn’t all that interested in it, until after we saw the results of our engagement pictures!

Some of the pictures we took I thought would look cool at the time, but many of them didn’t seem like a great backdrop. I was pleasantly surprised how amazing the pictures came out, and have a lot of faith in Cherie to produce some amazing shots even with what I considered “bad” settings inside the museum.

Its another relief to have that nailed down so far before the wedding, as our initial plan had been to almost wing it if we didn’t like the decor at the botanical gardens. With a fairly short time window, and the possibility of miserably cold weather I am glad we change that.

Engagement Pictures MK. 3

Heather and I, with the help of her family, chose a picture we wanted to send with the wedding invitations.

Our photographer, Cherie, did a great job of getting the changes to the text etc. that we wanted done quickly enough we could order the picture Sunday.

The picture we chose:

It was really quite hard to pick our favorite out of the set.  I am really happy with this one though, and I am excited to have the last thing taken care of so the invitations can go out.

Nearly all of the work for the invitations has been done by Heather’s mom, I don’t want to sound like I am taking credit for any of that… Its just exciting to have that all moving forward, one more thing that had to happen before the wedding almost complete.
